The YMCA of Pittsburg, Kansas, upholds a Code of Conduct to provide a safe and inclusive environment for all members, program participants, guests, and visitors. To promote safety and respect, the Y has established guidelines for acceptable behavior. Prohibited actions include, but are not limited to, failing to check in at the membership desk, wearing inappropriate attire, and engaging in verbally abusive behavior, such as swearing, shouting, or name-calling.
The Y also prohibits physical aggression, sexual activity, harassment, theft, and the possession or use of weapons. Smoking, alcohol, and illegal drug use are strictly forbidden on YMCA property. Recording others without their consent and loitering are not allowed.
In its commitment to safety, the YMCA reserves the right to conduct background checks and deny access to anyone who violates the Code of Conduct, has a criminal record involving sexual abuse, or is involved in excessive drug or alcohol use. If there is a suspicion of illegal substances or stolen property, the YMCA may search belongings and involve law enforcement as needed. These measures ensure that the YMCA remains a safe and welcoming space for everyone.

Member Agreement and Responsibilities
The YMCA requires appropriate attire to ensure safety, comfort, and respect for all members. Indecent clothing is prohibited. Closed-toe athletic shoes are required in the Wellness Center, and dangling keychains or jewelry are not allowed. Proper swimwear is required in the pool, and towels are recommended.
If my monthly membership dues are returned for nonpayment, I will be responsible for the dues plus a $25 non-sufficient funds fee. After two returned payments, the YMCA may cancel my membership, incurring an additional $25 fee for the second return. Rejoining requires paying the balance and new member fees. Memberships are non-refundable and non-transferable. Monthly dues support YMCA operations. Please understand that your membership is ongoing, through automatic draft, which will be processed on the 1st of every month. I authorize Pittsburg Family YMCA to initiate an Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT).
Effective July 1, 2025: To terminate your YMCA membership, a 30-day notice is required. Members may choose one of the following options to submit a termination request:
In Person: Pick up and complete a Termination Form at the Welcome Center.
By Phone: Call us at 620-231-1100. If you are the primary account holder, we can process your termination over the phone.
By Email: We can email you the Termination Form upon request.
Online: Log in to your YMCA account and cancel through the member portal.
Please note: If your scheduled Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) falls within the 30-day notice period, that payment will still process and serve as your final draft
Each time you come to the Y, please bring your membership identification card. For security reasons, all members must scan their membership card at the Welcome Center upon entering. Guests are required to check in at the Welcome Desk and pay a day pass fee.
